  3. Heat oil in a pan, add 1 roughly chopped onion fry it for 2 minutes, add ginger and garlic, fry it for another 2-3 mins, add roughly chopped tomatoes, little salt and fry everything well for about 3-4 mins. Cool this mixture and make a smooth paste by adding little water..

  4. In the same pan, add some more oil, add the dry red chillies, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cardamoms & cloves fry it a bit. Add the remaining finely chopped onion, add little sugar and fry it well for 3-4 mins..

  5. Next add the ground paste and cook the masala well for next 3-4 mins..

  6. Next lower the flame, add the remaining turmeric powder, red chilli powder along with cumin powder and coriander powder, add little water at a time and cook the masala well. Add some Kashmiri red chilli powder and cook the masala well for about 5-6 mins..

  7. Next add 2 tsp of whisked curd, mix it well and cook it for 2-3 mins, add the marinated chicken and fry it on a medium flame for about 5-6 minutes..

  8. Next add salt to taste and the fried potatoes and mix everything well..

  9. Add 1 cup of warm water, cover and cook on a low until the chicken and potato are completely cooked. Lastly add some slitted green chilies, kasuri methi, garam masala powder and chopped coriander. Cover and cook it for another 2-3 minutes and it's done..
