You can cook Upma using 20 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Ingredients of Upma
  1. Prepare of suji/rava (medium size).
  2. It’s of water.
  3. It’s of urad daal slpit.
  4. It’s of chana daal.
  5. Prepare of onion chopped.
  6. Prepare of carrot chopped.
  7. Prepare of green chilli.
  8. You need of french beans chopped.
  9. It’s of capsicum chopped (optional).
  10. You need of potato chopped (optional).
  11. It’s of tomato chopped (optional).
  12. Prepare of curry leaves.
  13. Prepare of coriander leaves (optional).
  14. It’s of cumin seeds.
  15. You need of mustard seeds.
  16. It’s of red chilli powder (depends on your taste).
  17. It’s of kashmiri lal mirchi powder.
  18. Prepare of Turmeric powder.
  19. It’s of Salt as per taste.
  20. It’s of oil.
Upma instructions
  1. First nicely dry roast suji and keep it aside. Chop veggies..

  2. Now in pan add oil & heat it. Now add urad dal and chana daal & fry for 1 minutes, now add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli and curry leaves. (Do this process on slow flame else daal will turn out black and will not taste good).

  3. Now add onion and your desired veggies, add salt mix it and cover the pan so veggies gets cooked nicely..

  4. Once veggies become soft add chopped tomato and cook it for two minutes. Now add red chilli powder, Kashmiri lal mirchi powder, turmeric powder lil salt and mix and add water. (Water should be 3 times of suji) here I skipped tomato just for taste change..

  5. Once water start boiling add suji slowly slowly and keep mixing else suji will get lumps. Now cover for 2 minutes,add coriander leaves and upma is ready..

  6. Enjoy your hot upma with coconut chutney!!!.
