Ingredients of Plain Breakfast Upma
- It’s of Semolina or Suji.
- You need of Salt or to taste.
- You need of Garlic cloves finely chopped.
- It’s of Bengal Gram or Chana Daal.
- It’s of Onion finely chopped.
- You need of Mustard seeds.
- It’s of Curry Leaves.
- It’s of Green Chillies finely chopped.
- You need of Oil.
- It’s of Peanuts.

Heat oil and add in the Mustard Seeds. After they splutter well, add in the Bengal Gram, Curry Leaves, finely chopped Garlic and Onion. Saute for about 2 minutes on a medium high heat..
Next add in the Peanuts and Green Chillies. Let the Peanuts cook till the raw aroma goes away. In about 10 minutes time, add Semolina and roast for 2-3 minutes by stirring it in between. Add hot water about 2 cups to it and mix well..
