Ingredients of Tomato Upma
  1. You need of fine Rava.
  2. It’s of medium size onion chopped fine.
  3. You need of medium size tomatoes chopped fine.
  4. Prepare of whole red chilli slit.
  5. Prepare of green chillies slit.
  6. It’s of cumin seeds.
  7. It’s of mustard seeds.
  8. You need of or curry leaves.
  9. Prepare of Urad Dal.
  10. Prepare of Chana Dal.
  11. Prepare of turmeric powder.
  12. You need of red chilli powder.
  13. You need of Asafoetida.
  14. Prepare of water.
  15. You need of Ghee or any white oil.
  16. Prepare of Salt as per taste.

  1. In a wok roast the Rava until the raw smell is gone and turned slightly brown colour. Set aside.

  2. In a non stick pan heat oil and add cumin seeds. When it splutters add mustard seeds. Add Chana Dal and Urad Dal. Fry until golden in colour but on a low flame. Add chopped onions, slit whole red chilli, slit green chillies and curry leaves. Stir..

  3. Add chopped tomatoes and stir until softened. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and stir well. Add 2.5-3 cups water..
