- Prepare 2 can of Tuna.
- You need 50 grams of Margarine.
- It’s 50 grams of Plain Flour.
- You need 150 grams of Strong Cheese.
- Prepare 500 ml of Milk.
- It’s 2 tsp of Parsley.
- Prepare 1 pinch of Salt and Pepper.
- It’s 4 large of Potatoes.
- You need 1 cup of Peas or Sweetcorn.
Fisherman's Pie step by step
Peel and chop Potatoes.
Grate or chop cheese and drain the tins of tuna.
Cover chopped potatoes with water and bring to boil while you follow the next steps.
Preheat oven to 200°C / Gas mark 6.
Start to boil Peas or other veg.
Mix flour, margarine, milk and parsley over a medium heat making sure there are no lumps. Bring heat down to a simmer when it starts to bubble.
Mix the grated or chopped cheese into the sauce then add the tuna, peas and any other ingredients you would like to add, season with salt and pepper.
Remove the sauce from the heat.
By now the potatoes should be soft enough to mash, remove them from the heat, drain the water and mash them until light and fluffy.
Pour sauce into a casserole dish and top with mashed potato.
Place in oven for about 20 minutes until the potato is golden brown.
