- You need of rolled oats.
- Prepare of small onion finely chopped.
- You need of green chillies slit.
- Prepare of finely chopped capsicum.
- It’s of finely chopped carrot.
- You need of finely chopped beans.
- Prepare of lemon juice.
- You need of sugar.
- It’s of Salt.
- You need of water.
- Prepare of grated ginger.
- Prepare of oil.
- Prepare of mustard seeds.
- Prepare of heeng (optional).
- Prepare of curry leaves.
- Prepare of bengal gram/chana dal.
- Prepare of split black gram/urad dal.
- It’s of Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing.
Vegetable Oats Upma instructions
Heat a pan on low medium heat. Add rolled oats and dry roast till it get slightly brown in colour. Keep aside..
In the same pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds, chana dal and urad dal. Fry till mustard seeds splitters..
Now add heeng, onion, curry leaves, green chillies and ginger. Saute till onion turns light brown in colour..
Meanwhile in another pan, add 1 1/2 cup water, carrots, capsicum and beans. Let it boil for 2-3 minutes..
Now add roasted oats to the tempering and mix it well. Then add boiled veggies along with water, keep stirring..
Add salt, mix well. Cover with a lid and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame..
Later add lemon juice, sugar and coriander leaves..
Enjoy vegetable oats upma when hot..
