- You need 1 cup of oats.
- Prepare 1 tsp of olive oil or cooking oil.
- You need 1 tbsp of oil.
- It’s 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
- It’s 1/4 tsp of cumin seeds.
- You need 1 tsp of urad dal.
- Prepare 3 of walnuts.
- It’s 1 of medium tomato finaly chooped.
- You need 1/2 of grated carrots.
- Prepare 1 of small onion finely chooped.
- It’s 1/2 tsp of Grated ginger.
- It’s 1 of Green chilli finaly chooped.
- It’s 1 tbsp of peas.
- Prepare to taste of Salt.
- You need 1 tsp of lemon juice.
- Prepare 1 tsp of sugar.
Oats upma instructions
Heat 1tsp of oil in a non-stick pan and add oats and sauté on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes or till they turn light brown colour, stir occasionally. Keep aside..
In a pan kadai heat 1 tbsp oil and splutter mustard, cumin seeds, urad dal, and walnut. saute until turn golden brown..
Now add ginger, chilli and onion. saute well.Now add carrot, beans, peas and tomatoes, turmeric and salt and mix well..
Add 2 tbsp water, cover and simmer for 5 minutes..
Now add 1 cup water and to taste salt get it to a boil. once the water comes to a boil, add in roasted oats and mix well..
Mix until the oats absorb all the water.now cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until oats gets cooked well..
Add sugar and lemon juice mix well..
Serve healthy oats upma immediately and enjoy..
