  1. Prepare 2 cups of rava/suji.
  2. You need 5 cups of hot water.
  3. You need 1 of medium size onion chopped.
  4. Prepare 2 of large size tomatoes chopped.
  5. You need 1 tsp of ginger paste.
  6. Prepare 1 tsp of urad dal.
  7. You need 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp of hing.
  9. Prepare 1/2 cup of chopped beans.
  10. You need 1 of chopped green chilie.
  11. Prepare 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
  12. It’s 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
  13. It’s 2 tsp of ghee.

Tomato Rava Upma step by step
  1. Heat ghee in a pan and roast the Rava, by continoulsy stirring on a medium flame for 4-5 minutes, until it slightly changes in colour and you get a nutty smell. Keep it aside..

  2. Finely chopped the onions, beans, tomatoes, green chillies and keep it aside..

  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, once it starts to splutter add the urad dal, hing, curry leaves, fry it for 1 minute..

  4. Next add the green chilies and chopped onion, sauté it for 2 mins. Next add the ginger paste and again fry it for another 2-3 minutes..

  5. Next add the chopped beans (you can also add green peas), fry it for 1 min, next add the tomatoes, add salt to taste and cook the tomatoes until it becomes soft and mushy..

  6. Next lower the flame and add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and cook the masala well for about 3-4 mins..

  7. Now add the roasted rava/suji, gently mix it well. Next carefully add the hot water and stir it continuously. Cover and allow it to cook for 4-5 mins and it's done..
