  1. Prepare 3-4 cups of raw mango (grated).
  2. Prepare 1/3 cup of sugar.
  3. You need 1/2 tbsp of Roasted cumin (jeera) seeds powder.
  4. You need 1/2 tbsp of Red chilli powder.
  5. It’s 1/2 tbsp of black pepper powder.
  6. It’s 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  7. You need 1 tsp of Salt to taste.

It is ideally paired with Gujarati foods like Thepla, Khakra, Bhakris, etc. You can also enjoy this mango pickle with plain roti and parathas. In my house, pickling means hot, sweet and sour! This sweet and sour mango pickle is a version of kashmiri achar (sweet mango pickle).

  1. Rinse the mangoes, dry wipe and then grate it and keep it aside..

  2. Take the pan and add grated mango into it,now  add sugar, mix it well until the mixture becomes liquidy..

  3. Add salt, haldi,red chilli powder, black pepper as per given quantity and mix well..

  4. You can also add some dry fruits like kishmish, chironji (Raisins and nuts) into it..

  5. Keep this mixture in the sun for almost two days. The sugar mix gets little dried up and the mixture becomes more solid..

  6. Now store the Chunda in a glass container, your spicy and sweet Chunda is ready to be served with parantha and puri..
